Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This policy explains what CodeHark stores about you and how it is used. CodeHark is operated by (“we”, “us”).

In short: we keep what is needed to run your account and your chats, we do not run ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking scripts.

What we store on our server

  • Account: your email address (or username), display name, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), your interface language, and the dates you signed up and accepted the Terms.
  • Chats: your conversations with the AI, including your messages, the AI’s replies, the commands it ran, their output, file changes it made and files you attached.
  • Machines: the names and connection details of the machines you connect, their operating system and status.
  • Settings and keys you enter on the site: notification settings, Git host and token, and any custom API endpoint address and key. These are stored in our database so they can be used on your behalf.
  • Model accounts: display information only, such as the email and plan of the ChatGPT or Claude account you connected. See the next section for the sign-in credentials.
  • Technical data: session records (so you stay signed in), and ordinary server logs (IP address, time, requested address) used for security and troubleshooting and kept for a limited time.

Where your files and sign-in credentials live

The code and files you work on stay on the machine that runs the chat. If you connect your own computer, they stay on your computer; we do not copy your project files to our server. The sign-in credentials of your ChatGPT or Claude account are stored on that machine (in the sandbox or user folder of the AI tool), not in our database.

If an administrator has allowed you to use a shared machine, your workspace files and credentials are stored on that shared machine, which the operator controls.

When the AI works, the text of your conversation and the parts of your files it reads are sent to your model provider (for example OpenAI or Anthropic) under your own account. Their privacy policy applies to that data.

Where data is stored and who processes it

The CodeHark server runs in the United States on Tencent Cloud infrastructure. Backups of the database are kept on the same server and may be copied to an off-site storage service operated by us.

When email is enabled, verification and notification emails are sent through Resend, which receives the recipient address and the message. We do not sell your data, do not show ads, and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose data only if the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use one essential cookie that keeps you signed in. Your browser also stores your language and interface choices locally and caches the app files so it loads faster and works offline. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and the public pages load nothing from other websites.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and chats until you delete them or your account. Deleting a chat removes its messages. Deleting your account removes everything listed above from our server, including chats, uploaded files, connected machines, stored keys and sessions. Database backups are kept for 14 days, so deleted data can remain in a backup for up to that long. Server logs are rotated regularly. Files on your own computers are not touched; the uninstall steps are in Settings.

Your choices: export and delete

In Settings, Account you can download all your data as a JSON file (profile, chats with messages and events, machine list; no secrets or tokens) and delete your account. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone. For other requests, such as correcting your data, contact us.

Children

CodeHark is a developer tool and is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use it. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a significant way we will say so on the site. The date at the top shows the latest version.
